I. PRIVATE COLLECTIONS
Private collections have been entrusted from permanent collections such as Greek traditional jewelry and dresses from the Iris Papamarkou Collection, Indian jewelry from the Eleni Merkati collection, historic textiles, pocket watches, French furniture, and other decorative arts.
II. HELEN DRUTT INTERNATIONAL STUDIO JEWELRY COLLECTION
The Studio Collection is developed after the idea of Helen Drutt English, to enhance the permanent collections with an assembly that would comprise of artists experiments. Hence, the choice comprises of works donated are made by the residents or donations by established artists. All works are available for further study.
The Studio Collection is on permanent view in the ZEDET workshop, but once a year chosen works are moved to the Sculpture Gallery for intensified viewing. Currently new donations are on view with a peak in experiments of past Residents’ work. This project adds further study, research and exploration in the Museum’s new live workshops to provide immersion into the new culture of contemporary studio jewelry.
Works in the Museum today have been donated by international artists such as Debra Rapaport, Marjorie Schick, Bruno Martinazzi, Judy Onofrio, Petra Zimmermann, and by Greek artists such Christina Athanasoula, Sofia Zarari, Tina Karageorgi, Sofia Bahlava, Despoina Pantazopoulou, Vasilis Stamoulis, Vivi Touloumidi.
